Our Partners

Together, we are building a world where every deaf child can access language, education, and a brighter future.

The Learning Center for the Deaf

Our resource partner, The Learning Center for the Deaf (TLC) is located near Boston, Massachusetts, USA. TLC is dedicated to excellence in bilingual deaf education, offering an Early Childhood Center, Elementary School and Secondary School (middle and high school). Community based programs include an Audiology Clinic, behavioral health programs, sign language classes and interpreting services.

Their bilingual teaching model serves as the foundation of our approach. With their guidance, we are working to replicate this proven model in schools around the world.

Visions Academy School for the Deaf

Located in Hawassa, Ethiopia, Visions Academy School for the Deaf is a new school using the bilingual approach to deaf education. Currently, they serve 70 students in classes from Kindergarten through Grade 4. They have identified a great, unmet need for sign language training and basic education among deaf children in the Southern Ethiopia region. The school plans to expand to Grade 12.

TLC Global is helping Visions Academy with teacher training and curriculum development to meet the unique needs of deaf students.
